It is asking too much

to try to live in the realm of Pure Land

while applying the rules of Hell.

   Rules of Pure Land

1)   Think of others’ situations first.

2)   Try not to trouble others.

3)   Forgive others for their wrongs.

4)   Act rightly in the world even when it seems disadvantageous to you.

5)   Work hard as long as you can.

6)   Try to work for others

7)   Do hard work yourself while let others do easy work.

   Rules of Hell

1)   Think of your own situations first.

2)   Try not to trouble yourself.

3)   Attack others’ wrongs.

4)   Trick your way in the world when it seems disadvantageous to you.

5)   Idle away as long as you can.

6)   Try to make others work for you.

7)   Let others do hard work while you do easy work.

Mrs. N.Y. (a hundred years old this year) showed me the above article in a
magazine she read in 1930. How convincing it is!

Why not add more rules on both sides when you hit upon them?
